This 1 Star review is past due. I've actually used this company multiple times. Mark painted a coffered ceiling for us about 2 years ago, and they did a great job. Well fast forward 2 years later, I brought him into a job to paint some more coffered ceilings and it has been a total nightmare! This guy bid the job for $4,600. After walking the job in person for himself, he said nothing about the price he gave us. One week after starting the project he sent us a bill for 80% of his bid. He said he made a mistake on his bid and the price was going to double. Now right there, that is a terrible contractor, but wait, it gets worse.

I went ahead and allowed him to up his bid to $7,000, and I gave him $3,000 on that date. Now here is where it gets bad, they painted the rest of the coffered ceiling without prepping them, which was 100% their responsibility. They puttied and bonded areas, then they never sanded anything, then just painted over it all. It is by far the worst paint job I've seen in almost 18 years in business. But wait it gets worse.

So then, when I told him about it, he started to blame everyone else but himself, including myself and the customer. Multiple times he yelled at me, I mean went off! Sending long winded crazy text messages. All before he even looked at the job. So once he finally decided to look at the job, he fired his crew entirely. I tried to find common ground with this guy, but when every other sentence is either angry, or him telling myself (and the customer) about his personal problems; he can't pay his mortgage, he has to go to court all the time, boo hoo this, boo hoo that!!! What does that have to with myself, the customer, or this project? NOTHING. He would just go around in circles! So finally I had to fire him because I had to step in and fix his mess.

This was written quickly off the top of my head, it was much worse than I described above. Do yourself a favor, and find another painter. This guy is going to have legal problems very soon, I'll be going after his contractors license, and filing complaints with BBB and Consumer Affairs. Mark needs to refund us the $4,500 we waisted with him (it should be more, because fixing his mistakes have cost triple what it would cost when done correctly) and forfeit his contractors license.

I have attached 3 photos of the work we are having to do to correct this terrible paint job. We are having to sand through the paint, all the way to the wood, patch/fill, then repaint. It's so bad, we are having to do this multiple times in some sections.
